Emergency Teams Save 4 Victims in Yaba Building Collapse

Four persons were pulled out alive after a three-storey structure under construction collapsed on Friday night in the Yaba area of Lagos.
The confirmation was made in a statement on Saturday by Mrs. Ibitayo Adenike, Acting Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Operations Office.
She explained that the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at No. 333 Borno Street, Alagomeji, leaving several others feared trapped in the debris.

According to Adenike, the rescued victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
She noted that rescue teams could not immediately determine how many people were still under the rubble until the structure was fully cleared.
Search-and-rescue efforts, she added, were still in progress.

Officials said that multiple agencies, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Fire and Rescue Service, the State Building Control Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force, were actively involved in the operation.
They assured residents that heavy-duty equipment and trained personnel had been deployed to speed up the search.
Authorities also appealed for public cooperation as emergency teams continue working to ensure no victim is left unattended.
