The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Giwa, has called on Muslims and Nigerians at large to draw inspiration from the life and virtues of Prophet Muhammad in their daily conduct.
Giwa made the appeal in his Eid-ul-Maulud goodwill message on Friday in Enugu.
He encouraged citizens to use the celebration as an opportunity to promote unity, peace, and mutual respect across communities.
Giwa also assured residents of Enugu State of the police command’s readiness to safeguard lives and property, stressing that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure a peaceful celebration.
Extending warm felicitations to Muslim faithful, the police chief prayed that the values of peace, compassion, humility, and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad would guide Nigerians toward building a more harmonious society.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant, obey the law, and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies through the command’s emergency lines.
The Federal Government had earlier declared Friday, Sept. 5, a public holiday to enable Nigerians observe the Eid-ul-Maulud celebration with their families.
