Jigawa CP Pledges Stronger Collaboration and Community Policing

The Commissioner of Police in Jigawa State, Mr. Dahiru Muhammad, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing community partnership, and promoting effective policing across the state.

Muhammad, who assumed duty in July as the 24th Commissioner of Police in Jigawa, said his focus would include intelligence-led operations, proactive strategies, and respect for human rights.

He explained that shortly after taking office, he convened a strategic conference with the command’s management team, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments, and other senior officers to align on new operational priorities.

“At that meeting, I pledged to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. I also made clear our commitment to building stronger inter-agency cooperation, enhancing community engagement, intensifying intelligence gathering, and respecting human rights,” Muhammad said.

He highlighted three key strategies that would drive policing in the state:

  1. Proactive policing to build public trust and confidence.
  2. Diligent investigation and prosecution to ensure justice is fair and timely.
  3. Community policing to tackle crime through intelligence gathering and partnership.

According to him, officers and men across the command have already shown commitment to implementing these strategies in their respective areas of responsibility, which has begun to yield positive results.
