The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has instructed intending pilgrims to make a deposit of ₦8.5 million for participation in the 2026 Hajj.

The directive was announced by the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Lamin Danbappa, during a meeting with board members, management staff, and Local Government Hajj Registration Officers in Kano.

According to a statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the payment directive follows guidelines issued by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

He noted that the collection of deposits has already begun and will close on October 5, 2025.
