FRSC Trains Personnel on Operational Efficiency in Ogun State

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State has reaffirmed its commitment to continuous training for officers in order to strengthen operational efficiency and improve service delivery.

Sector Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin disclosed this in Abeokuta during a workshop organised for commanding officers and heads of drivers’ licence centres.

According to him, the initiative is designed to enhance effectiveness within the command and better equip officers to meet growing operational demands across the state.

Fasakin explained that the training involved 12 unit commanders, 12 heads of drivers’ licence centres, four outpost commanders and five special marshals.

“We are developing our personnel through training, retraining, workshops and seminars. Public enlightenment must go hand in hand with enforcement if we are to achieve safer roads. While we have previously focused on capacity building for transport unions and stakeholders, the current priority is to build the capacity of our officers,” he said.

Guest Speaker and FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Kehinde Hamzat, praised the initiative, describing training as essential to modern law enforcement. He emphasised that regular workshops help officers stay updated with new technologies and practices, while also reinforcing respect for human rights in their duties.

Hamzat added that beyond enforcement, the FRSC conducts quarterly free vehicle safety checks to create awareness among motorists.

Delivering a lecture at the event, former Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the FRSC and relevant stakeholders. He stressed that strong partnerships would aid the Corps in identifying priority areas such as road maintenance, thereby improving operational effectiveness and reducing accidents.
