Enugu, Aug. 19, 2025 — The newly appointed Head of Service (HOS) in Enugu State, Dr. Godwin Anigbo, has instructed civil servants in the state to embrace e-governance and a result-oriented work system.
Anigbo gave the directive on Friday in Enugu while addressing workers shortly after assuming office.
He said the move aligned with Gov. Peter Mbah’s vision of driving governance through innovation, stressing that the state workforce must migrate from paper-based operations to digital platforms.
According to him, government services would henceforth be digitalised to ensure seamless delivery and reduce physical interface with the public.
The HOS disclosed that training of workers on computer usage and digital proficiency had commenced in partnership with the state’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) agency.
He added that arrangements were underway to provide computers or smartphones for staff across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to aid the transition.
Anigbo explained that the digital reform was critical to achieving the administration’s target of growing the state’s economy from 4 billion dollars to 30 billion dollars within six years.
He assured workers that welfare and incentives would remain a priority, noting that the government had already increased the minimum wage to N80,000.
“With Gov. Mbah’s commitment to results, every civil servant must align with this pace of innovation to ensure government policies and programmes impact positively on the people,” he said.
