Three Killed as Armed Bandits Attack Niger Community

Minna, June 14, 2026 – Three residents have lost their lives following an attack by suspected bandits on Pissa village in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, according to security authorities.

The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who said the assailants stormed the community at about 9:00 a.m.

Abiodun disclosed that the attackers also set several houses on fire during the raid, causing destruction within the village.

He explained that military personnel responded to the distress call and confronted the attackers, although details regarding the outcome of the operation were not immediately available.

According to the police spokesperson, preliminary reports indicated that armed bandits invaded the community, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and the destruction of property.

He added that security agencies were continuing efforts to obtain more information on the incident and assess the full extent of the damage caused during the attack.

Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations and security assessments continue in the affected area.
