NDLEA Apprehends Four Notorious Female Drug Traffickers Across Four States

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have intensified nationwide enforcement actions, leading to the arrest of four female drug suspects in separate operations across Edo, Imo, Kano and Gombe states.

The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement issued from Abuja on Sunday, noting that the coordinated raids targeted identified drug hotspots.

In Edo State, operatives conducted a sweep of black spots within Benin City on June 2, resulting in the arrest of four suspected traffickers, three of whom were women. At Uyosa in Benin City, two female suspects were found with multiple illicit substances, including cannabis (skunk), Loud, and methamphetamine. Another female suspect, identified as 21-year-old Anita Abraham, was arrested along Agbor Road with quantities of Loud variants.

A separate arrest was made at Upper Mission in Benin City, where a male suspect was found in possession of assorted psychoactive substances such as Loud, Colorado, Swinol, and methamphetamine.

In Kano State, operatives arrested a 19-year-old suspect in the Kafi area of Madobi on June 4, where about 38 kilograms of cannabis packaged in 40 blocks were recovered.

In Gombe State, a 28-year-old suspect was intercepted on June 1 near Dantiti Plaza in the Tumfure area with 15,000 capsules of tramadol.

The agency also noted that its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation campaigns continued across different state commands during the same period, as part of its broader prevention strategy.

Chairman of the agency, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, commended officers of the Edo, Imo, Kano and Gombe commands for their sustained operational efforts and urged continued vigilance in disrupting drug trafficking networks nationwide.

He reaffirmed that the agency would maintain its crackdown on illicit drug distribution networks while strengthening both enforcement and public awareness campaigns across the country, regardless of the scale or sophistication of concealment methods.
