Police arrest suspect for alleged trespass at Bauchi NBC office

Police in Bauchi State have arrested a suspect over an alleged break-in and theft at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) office in the state capital, where three television sets were reportedly stolen.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the incident involved the suspect and another individual currently on the run, who allegedly gained unlawful access to the premises and carted away items valued at about N400,000.

He said operatives attached to the ‘E’ Division in Yelwa apprehended the suspect on May 3, following an investigation into the incident. The stolen television sets were also recovered.

Habib added that the suspect would be prosecuted after the completion of investigations.

He further quoted the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, as reaffirming the command’s resolve to protect lives and property across the state.

The commissioner also urged members of the public and institutions to remain alert and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies through the command’s emergency contact line.
