Benue APC leaders resolve differences as Governor Alia praises reconciliation move

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has applauded leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for attending a reconciliation meeting aimed at resolving internal disputes within the party.

In a statement issued in Makurdi by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor expressed satisfaction with the willingness of party members to embrace peace after years of internal disagreements.

He described the development as a positive step toward restoring unity and strengthening cooperation among APC members in the state, expressing hope that the resolutions reached would mark the beginning of renewed harmony.

Alia urged stakeholders and their supporters to sustain the spirit of dialogue and mutual understanding in order to promote the party’s collective interests and support good governance in the state.

He also wished participants success in their political pursuits while encouraging continued collaboration for peace and development.

The governor commended the orderly conduct of the meeting and the commitment shown by attendees, noting that it signaled progress in rebuilding trust within the party structure.

He highlighted the presence of prominent figures, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; former Governor Gabriel Suswam; and former Deputy Governor Stephen Lawani, alongside other current and former lawmakers and political appointees.

According to him, the broad participation demonstrated a shared determination to foster stability and strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.

The statement concluded that the reconciliation effort represents a renewed push for unity and progress within the APC in Benue State.
