NFSS Kano Command Records 99 Complaints in March — Commander

The Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS) in Kano State has disclosed that it handled a total of 99 complaints reported during the month of March.

This was made known by the State Commander, Abdullahi Al’ameen, in a statement issued on Wednesday by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Malam Usman Umar.

According to the commander, the reported cases ranged from bush burning and cattle rustling to vehicle theft, illegal logging, robbery, and other related offences.

He noted that out of the total complaints received, 50 cases have already been addressed, while 49 are still under investigation.

Al’ameen explained that the agency’s responsibilities include preventing and detecting crimes, particularly those occurring within forest areas and surrounding communities.

He added that the service is strengthening collaboration with stakeholders to enhance community-based policing efforts.

The commander further stated that personnel are being trained to improve intelligence gathering on crimes such as theft, kidnapping, and other unlawful activities.

He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to safeguarding forest zones and reducing criminal activities in those areas.

Residents were also encouraged to promptly report suspicious or criminal acts and avoid concealing offenders, as collective vigilance remains key to improving security.
