UTME: NSCDC assigns 42 officers to secure exam centres in Enugu

Enugu, April 15, 2026 — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed personnel to provide security coverage for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

According to a statement issued in Enugu by the Command’s spokesperson, DSC Pamela Chukwu, a total of 42 officers have been assigned across examination centres in the state to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.

The examination is scheduled to take place nationwide from April 16 to April 25, with candidates expected to complete their tests within a two-hour window.

In Enugu State, 21 approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres have been designated for the conduct of the examination.

Chukwu explained that each centre will have two NSCDC officers stationed there, supported by additional mobile monitoring teams drawn from the seven Area Commands in the state.

She said the State Commandant, Dr. Elijah Willie, has directed personnel to maintain strict supervision and uphold the integrity of the exercise.

He also announced plans for unannounced inspections of CBT centres to evaluate operations and ensure compliance with examination standards.

The deployment, she noted, is intended to provide adequate security, prevent malpractice, restrict unauthorized access, and protect candidates, examination officials, and facilities.

The Corps reiterated its commitment to a professional and coordinated security operation throughout the examination period, urging officers to remain disciplined and vigilant in the discharge of their duties
