30 Ships to Arrive Lagos Ports With Petroleum Products, Food

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that no fewer than 30 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at major Lagos ports between Jan. 26 and Feb. 6.

The Authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position released on Monday, stating that the vessels will berth at the Apapa Port, Tin-Can Island Port and Lekki Deep Sea Port.

According to the NPA, 20 of the expected vessels are container ships carrying different categories of goods, while others will arrive with gasoline, urea, fresh fish, bulk gypsum, bulk gas, bulk fertiliser and general cargo.

The Authority also revealed that 12 ships and tanker vessels have already arrived at the Lagos ports and are awaiting berthing. These vessels are carrying alkaline products, containers, bulk urea, general cargo, fresh fish, bulk gypsum, bulk wheat and empty containers.

Meanwhile, 22 ships are currently discharging various cargoes, including bulk urea, crude oil, base oil, general cargo, bulk gypsum, containers, bulk wheat, raw crude oil and aviation fuel at the Tin-Can Island, Apapa and Lekki ports.

The NPA said the steady inflow of vessels reflects ongoing port activities across the Lagos port corridor.
