Lagos, June 9, 2026 – The Agbelebu Solidarity Forum (ASF) has inaugurated ward-level canvassers across Agege Constituency I in Lagos State to mobilise voter support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group said the mobilisation effort is aimed at securing votes for President Bola Tinubu as well as Mr. Gbenga Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Director-General of ASF, Dr. Jamiu Ademosu, described the newly appointed “Street Captains” as a key component of the organisation’s grassroots political structure.
He said the initiative was designed to deepen voter engagement across communities within the constituency and strengthen party presence at the grassroots level.
Ademosu explained that the canvassers would also rally support for the re-election bid of President Tinubu and the Lagos State APC governorship ticket led by Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
He emphasised that effective political mobilisation depends on strong community-level structures, noting that the Street Captains would serve as the first point of contact between residents and the party.
According to him, they are expected to remain active within their communities, communicate government achievements, and promote the APC’s policies and candidates.
He added that the structure would operate across wards, streets, households, and individual voter levels within Agege Constituency I to ensure broad outreach.
The mobilisation campaign, he said, would highlight the achievements of APC-led administrations at the federal, state, and local government levels.
Ademosu also urged the canvassers to uphold values of loyalty, discipline, dedication, and service in carrying out their duties.
He expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated team would play a significant role in strengthening the party’s support base ahead of the elections.
The event concluded with the presentation of appointment letters to the newly appointed Street Captains.
