Kafanchan, Kaduna State, May 11, 2026 — Member representing Jema’a Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr Ali Kalat, has officially declared his intention to contest for a third term, promising to deepen development efforts and strengthen grassroots representation.
Kalat made the announcement in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area, where he addressed supporters and political stakeholders.
The lawmaker said he remained committed to initiating more development projects, expanding opportunities for residents and improving the overall welfare of people in the constituency.
According to him, his years in public service have been defined by dedication, sacrifice and a strong commitment to advancing the interests of Jema’a Constituency.
He stated that maintaining regular interaction with communities has helped him understand the needs of the people and provide inclusive leadership.
Kalat explained that he frequently visits communities, participates in social and cultural activities and engages residents directly in order to stay connected to their concerns and aspirations.
He identified youth empowerment and human capital development as key priorities, stressing that the progress of the constituency depends largely on productive and self-reliant young people.
The lawmaker said he had supported several vocational training initiatives, skills acquisition programmes and financial assistance schemes aimed at empowering youths economically.
He added that his focus has always been on sustainable empowerment capable of promoting confidence, independence and long-term growth among beneficiaries.
Kalat also highlighted efforts aimed at supporting women through economic empowerment programmes, assistance for small businesses and greater inclusion in community development activities.
Speaking on his legislative responsibilities, he said he had continued to champion the interests of the constituency through motions, debates, committee assignments and other legislative engagements at the state assembly.
According to him, effective representation goes beyond occupying a political office and must translate into meaningful impact on the lives of the people.
He further noted that one of his major goals has been to attract infrastructure and community development projects to the grassroots.
Kalat assured constituents that, if re-elected in 2027, he would continue to provide leadership focused on improving lives, creating opportunities and sustaining development across the constituency.
Several political figures who attended the event praised the lawmaker’s contributions to Jema’a Constituency and urged party delegates and residents to support his ambition during the forthcoming APC primaries.
The event also featured the inauguration of Kalat’s campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections.
