Two Arraigned in Ikorodu Over Alleged Theft of Iron, Copper Worth N230,000

The Nigeria Police Force on Monday arraigned two men, Sunday Daniel, 20, and Ibrahim Tenimu, 32, before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged theft of iron and copper materials valued at N230,000.

The defendants are facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the offences were allegedly committed on Feb. 12 at about 6 p.m. at Landcraft Industry, located in Odogunyan, Ikorodu.

According to him, Daniel allegedly stole iron rods valued at N150,000, while Tenimu allegedly stole copper materials worth N80,000, all said to belong to the company.

The prosecutor stated that the offences contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.

The case was adjourned until March 29 for mention.
