Aproko Doctor Launches Foundation to Support Vulnerable Nigerians with Preventive and Life-Saving Healthcare

Dr. Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, has inaugurated the Aproko Doctor Foundation (ADF), a nonprofit organisation focused on addressing the healthcare needs of vulnerable Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Egemba said the foundation aims to reduce health poverty by delivering preventive healthcare services and funding life-saving treatments for underinsured and disadvantaged citizens.

“In Nigeria, the gap isn’t just between sickness and health, it’s between diagnosis and action. Millions of Nigerians know what ails them but cannot access care,” he said.

“ADF exists to close that gap by ensuring that a medical diagnosis does not become a death sentence simply because treatment is unaffordable.”

Egemba explained that what began as a call for Nigerians to contribute small donations has evolved into a broader movement demonstrating how collective support can bridge the gap between diagnosis and survival in underserved communities.

According to him, the initiative has operated continuously for over five years and has funded more than 40 documented medical interventions. It has also screened thousands of Nigerians through community health outreaches and installed solar power systems at MHC Gbaja and Epe General Hospital.

The foundation conducts annual screenings for cervical cancer, breast cancer, malaria, hepatitis and HIV across Lagos. This year, it expanded its cervical cancer screening programme to Abuja for the first time, extending preventive services to women in the Federal Capital Territory.

Egemba called on members of the public to support the foundation through donations and other forms of contribution.
