The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the rotation of Voter Enrollment Devices (IVEDs) across all wards in Osun State as part of the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, announced the exercise in Osogbo on Monday, noting that it is designed to bring voter registration closer to eligible citizens at the ward level.
“Under this arrangement, the IVEDs will be rotated across all wards within each local government area. This is to enable eligible registrants to conveniently register for the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) and access other approved voter registration services,” he said.
The REC said the rotation exercise will run for 50 days, starting February 2 and ending April 10, to enhance access, inclusiveness, and participation in the electoral process.
Agboke urged all eligible voters to take full advantage of the opportunity by visiting designated registration centres in their respective wards within the stipulated period.
He also assured the public that, for transparency and effective monitoring, a detailed rotation schedule of the IVEDs by local government area will be made available.
“The commission remains committed to a credible, inclusive, and accessible voter registration process, and we call on all stakeholders to support the success of this exercise,” he added.
