Poland’s Justice Minister, Adam Bodnar, has called for no let-up in support for Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.
He made the call at a conference on the prosecution of war crimes in Berlin.
“This applies both to political support and to the urgently needed arms deliveries.
“We must be united,” he implored the participants of the international conference on Friday, a day before the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The event, hosted by German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann, was also attended by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin as well as U.S. government representatives.
According to Ukrainian information, more than 120,000 reports of possible war crimes have already been registered.
International human rights organisations have accused Russia of repeated violations of the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of prisoners of war and the protection of civilians.
According to Buschmann, Germany alone has so far collected more than 500 reports of war crimes in Ukraine and heard more than 160 witnesses.
“It is important to send a signal to Russia that perpetrators would be held accountable,” the minister said.
