Lagos Mainland Chairman Inaugurates Borehole Project at Oyingbo

The Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mr Jubril Emilagba, has inaugurated a borehole project at Coates Street, Oyingbo, to improve access to clean water for residents and traders in the area.

The project, executed in partnership with Alert Group, is part of the local government’s efforts to enhance the quality of life of residents through people-centred infrastructure.

Speaking at the inauguration, Emilagba said access to clean and safe water was essential to public health and dignity, noting that the borehole project responded directly to the needs of the Oyingbo community.

“This borehole is a response to the needs expressed by residents and traders in this community,” he said.

The chairman stressed the importance of public-private partnerships in grassroots development, commending Alert Group for its support in delivering the project.

“Public-private partnerships like this help us deliver projects faster and ensure development reaches the people,” Emilagba said.

He also advised residents to register with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA) and obtain the National Identification Number (NIN), describing both as vital for identity management, access to government services and improved security.

Emilagba further encouraged eligible residents to participate in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise, stressing the importance of grassroots political inclusion.

In his remarks, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Alert Group, Dr Kazeem Olarenwaju, said the organisation was committed to supporting initiatives that positively impact communities.

Residents and traders in Oyingbo welcomed the project, describing it as timely and impactful, and commended the local government for responding to their needs.
