Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, founder of Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries, has revealed that God instructed him not to collect offerings as his ministry begins Sunday services in Abuja.
Oyedepo shared this in an online message on Tuesday, explaining that the ministry’s focus is on discipleship and the spiritual formation of believers, rather than financial contributions.
He clarified that while offerings are acceptable in other churches, God specifically directed him to refrain from them for his assignment. His priority, he said, is to nurture worshippers and help them grow firmly in their walk with Christ.
The announcement coincides with the launch of the ministry’s weekly Sunday services in Abuja.
Speaking in the video, Oyedepo said his approach reflects the early ministry of Jesus Christ, which focused on making disciples. “All Jesus did in His early ministry was to make disciples; the fire fell, and they were filled and refilled. Before He left, He commanded us to do the same,” he stated.
He emphasized that genuine spiritual growth is a continuous process fueled by engagement with the Word of God and questioned how strong churches would be if members were deeply grounded in Scripture.
