The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the Super Eagles on their impressive and confidence-boosting victory over Algeria in Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the party’s National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki, described the performance of the national team as heart-warming, praising the players for their authority and composure on the pitch.
The Super Eagles defeated the Atlas Lions of Algeria 2-0 in a high-intensity encounter, securing a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Turaki commended the team for making the nation proud, noting that they took control of the match from the opening whistle.
According to him, the Super Eagles displayed exceptional tactical discipline, technical finesse, resilience and stamina, leaving no doubt about their determination, cohesion and ability to compete at the highest level of African football.
He also praised the coaching crew for their outstanding work, saying their strategic depth and technical competence were evident throughout the game.
“Their preparation and game management translated into a commanding performance that reflects a promising future for Nigerian football,” Turaki said.
The PDP chairman expressed optimism that the Super Eagles would sustain the momentum and go on to lift the AFCON trophy.
He added that such success would bring joy to millions of Nigerians and help ease the disappointment of the country’s failure to qualify for the last World Cup.
