Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire and seven-time winners Egypt headline a formidable last eight, alongside Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, Mali and hosts Morocco.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the teams sealed qualification following an absorbing Round of 16 that concluded on Tuesday night, continuing the tradition of thrilling contests at Africa’s flagship football tournament.
Egypt secured their place with a hard-fought extra-time victory over Benin, while Côte d’Ivoire cruised to a convincing 3–0 win against Burkina Faso to keep their title defence alive.
Hosts Morocco edged Tanzania with strong home support, as Senegal defeated Sudan to underline their consistency since lifting the trophy in 2021.
Mali displayed grit and resilience by eliminating Tunisia on penalties despite playing much of the encounter with 10 men.
Nigeria impressed with a commanding victory over Mozambique, with Victor Osimhen scoring twice to highlight the Super Eagles’ attacking firepower.
