Badagry LGA Chairman Pledges Investment in Schools, Community Development for 2026

The Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, Lagos, Mr Babatunde Hunpe, has pledged to invest in infrastructure and programs that will strengthen schools and empower communities for a brighter future.

Hunpe made the promise in a New Year message to residents on Thursday, according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Augustine Kriko.

“As we step into 2026, I am filled with gratitude for each of you, the heart and soul of our great community,” Hunpe said. “This year, our journey of growth and progress will not slow down. Every day, we will work harder, dream bigger, and build stronger foundations for our people, driving the vision of a Greater Badagry Rising.”

The chairman highlighted ongoing empowerment programs aimed at supporting individuals, families, and communities, ensuring opportunities are real, accessible, and transformative. He also emphasized promoting Badagry’s culture, history, and natural beauty to boost tourism and civic pride.

Hunpe encouraged residents to approach the new year with courage, purpose, and determination. “Every small effort, every act of unity, and every hand extended to a neighbor builds the Greater Badagry we all deserve—a local government rising stronger, brighter, and more prosperous with each passing day,” he said.

He concluded by wishing residents health, joy, and hope, stressing that “A Greater Badagry is Rising, and it begins with us.”
