Anambra Police Urge Prior Notification Before Distribution of Palliatives

The Anambra State Police Command has advised organisations and individuals planning to distribute palliatives to first notify security agencies in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, made the appeal in a statement issued on Tuesday in Awka.

Ikenga explained that the directive was necessary to prevent stampedes and other incidents that could result in loss of lives, particularly during the Christmas and New Year festivities.

According to him, prior notification would enable the police to deploy adequate security personnel to maintain order, ensure public safety, and avert any unforeseen occurrences during such exercises.

The Command called on all stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a peaceful, safe, and secure Yuletide season across the state.

Ikenga also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious objects, persons, or groups to the nearest security agency.
