Operatives of the Kano State Police Command’s Anti-Daba Unit have arrested a 26-year-old man, Abba Aliyu, a resident of Dala Quarters, over alleged involvement in armed robbery and gang-related violence.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

Kiyawa added that Aliyu also admitted involvement in a series of armed robbery incidents that reportedly led to deaths, injuries and loss of property across Kano, Lagos and Rivers States.
The spokesperson said investigations were ongoing and that the suspect would be charged to court upon completion of the case file.
Commending the officers for the arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Bakori, urged members of the public to continue supporting the police by reporting suspicious movements or activities.
