The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard (BAT Vanguard), a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, promising to mobilise no fewer than 10 million votes for his re-election in 2027.
Sola Olofin, the National Convener of BAT Vanguard and Management Board Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), made the announcement during the group’s end-of-year party and special recognition awards in Abuja.
Olofin said the endorsement was anchored on Tinubu’s performance, capacity, vision, and the need to consolidate ongoing reforms.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon courage and clarity in leadership. From critical fiscal reforms and subsidy rationalisation to restoring investor confidence, stabilising monetary policy, accelerating infrastructure development, and redesigning social investment programmes, Nigeria is being rebuilt deliberately, systematically, and with vision,” he said.
He added that security coordination had strengthened and intelligence-driven operations were gradually restoring confidence across affected regions.
Olofin described the Renewed Hope Agenda as “no longer a promise, but a living testament of reform steadily repositioning Nigeria.” He emphasised that continuity is essential to consolidate these reforms, noting that BAT Vanguard would transition from a political campaign structure to a governance-support institution.
Looking ahead to 2028, he said the group would embark on structured monitoring and evaluation of key ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to ensure compliance with the Renewed Hope Agenda. BAT Vanguard will also launch targeted social assistance programmes to support at least 50,000 vulnerable households nationwide with food items, school materials, and basic welfare support.
Speaking at the event, APC chieftain Dr O’Diakpo Obire highlighted Tinubu’s achievements, including infrastructure renewal, the Student Loan Fund, foreign exchange reforms, power sector interventions, and targeted social programmes. He urged BAT Vanguard to continue taking government achievements to the grassroots and countering misinformation.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammed Idris, reiterated the ministry’s commitment to counter misinformation and showcase the administration’s accomplishments, pledging partnership with BAT Vanguard through the upcoming Media and Information and Literacy Institute in 2028.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, expressed confidence in APC’s electoral success in the FCT, citing the visible impact of democracy at the grassroots.
The event also featured awards presentations to notable public officials, including the Information Minister, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication Daniel Bwala, and Managing Director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije.
