ASP Eno Ikoedem Assumes Duty as Edo Police Command’s First Female Spokesperson

ASP Eno Ikoedem on Monday officially took over as the new Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Edo State Police Command, following her recent appointment by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Her assumption of duty was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Administrative Officer of the Police Public Relations Unit, ASP Emmanuel Nyokema.

Before her elevation, Ikoedem served as Deputy PRO under two successive command spokespersons. She is a graduate of the Nigeria Police Academy, where she completed a five-year programme and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is also currently enrolled in a Master’s programme at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Nyokema said her academic background and professional experience position her to enhance the command’s communication strategy. He noted that she has served in various operational and administrative capacities across several divisions in the state.

He urged members of the public seeking information, assistance or clarification to reach the new spokesperson through the command’s official communication channels.

Her appointment marks the first time a female officer will serve as the Edo Police Command’s PRO — a development Nyokema described as a significant milestone for policing and public engagement in the state.
