Tinubu Meets Retired Defence Chief Gen. Christopher Musa in Aso Villa

President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, at the State House in Abuja.

The visit marks Musa’s first public appearance at the Presidential Villa since his retirement from service on Oct. 24, following a shake-up in the nation’s security leadership.

Although details of the discussions were not made public, the meeting is seen as significant, coming at a time when Nigeria faces escalating security challenges across several regions.

Musa, who served as Chief of Defence Staff from June 23, 2023, until his retirement, oversaw multiple counter-terrorism and internal security operations during his tenure.

His meeting with the President occurs amid heightened national concern over insecurity. President Tinubu recently declared a national security emergency, with full details of the initiative expected to be announced soon.
