Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has pledged to deepen inclusiveness and strengthen strategic coordination across party structures to advance President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Uzodimma, recently appointed Renewed Hope Ambassador by President Tinubu, made the commitment on Monday while briefing journalists after a meeting with other state ambassadors.
He said the ambassadorial platform was created to promote the leadership vision of the Tinubu administration and ensure citizens are better informed about its achievements.
According to him, gaps in message dissemination have left many Nigerians unaware of key accomplishments, including efforts to stabilise the political environment and revive the economy.
Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), admitted that security challenges persist but described some of them as “contrived by certain politicians.”
He explained that the ambassadors’ mandate includes enlightening Nigerians on the administration’s progress, particularly economic recovery.
“For instance, state governments are now receiving three times more funding than they did before 2023,” he said, adding that increased federal allocations now enable states and local governments to pursue meaningful development projects.
He stressed that the initiative was not political campaign activity but an acknowledgement of reforms that have offered solutions Nigeria had sought for decades.
“We are excited to be apostles of this administration, taking this message of hope to the people so that every Nigerian can have their hope renewed,” he said.
Speaking on insecurity, Uzodimma claimed that some individuals were attempting to create “a synchronised national crisis” by attacking schools and churches, calling it “a bad style of politics.”
He assured that all 36 state governors stand united behind the President in restoring normalcy.
“We call on Nigerians to defend the national interest and reject this orchestrated insecurity by mischievous elements,” he said.
Uzodimma added that the issue goes beyond any individual leader, insisting it is about the nation’s collective destiny.
“We need cohesion. We need peace. We need to exist. Nigeria must lead, and others in Africa will follow,” he said.
