Energia Ltd., a prominent indigenous energy company, has introduced a graduate trainee initiative aimed at accelerating the professional development of young Nigerians in the sector.
According to Mr. Oladimeji Bashorun, the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), the programme is a structured learning pathway designed to give participants practical exposure across major operational and business units.
He explained that selected graduates would benefit from mentorship by experienced industry experts and gain both field and office-based experience covering core aspects of Energia’s operations and the wider oil and gas value chain.
Bashorun emphasised that the initiative reflects the organisation’s dedication to grooming future leaders in the industry.
“At Energia, we recognise that the future of our industry lies in the hands of today’s young professionals. This programme is our way of investing in Nigeria’s brightest minds, equipping them with practical skills, exposure, and the confidence to thrive in a fast-evolving energy landscape,” he said.
Also speaking, the General Manager of HR & Corporate Services, Tope Daramola, highlighted the programme’s role in building employability and strengthening a sustainable talent pipeline.
He noted that the aim was not only to offer work experience but to create a solid foundation for rewarding careers.
“Through mentorship, teamwork, and continuous learning, our trainees will develop the competence and values that define Energia’s culture of excellence and innovation,” Daramola added.
He stated that the programme is open to graduates with at least a Second-Class Upper degree in fields such as Engineering, Geosciences, Business, or Finance, or a Second-Class Lower with a Master’s degree (distinction or above). Applicants must have completed the National Youth Service Corps within the past two years.
Daramola reaffirmed that the initiative aligns with Energia’s vision to remain a leading provider of dependable and sustainable energy in Africa, driven by integrity, excellence, and human capital development.
