Army Will Maintain Strong Operational Momentum in Kogi, Says COAS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed that the Nigerian Army will sustain its high-intensity operations to weaken criminal networks in Kogi State and across the country.

Shaibu made this commitment during a courtesy visit by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo to the Army Headquarters in Abuja. The assurance was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele.

The Army Chief emphasized that the military remains resolute in its mandate to safeguard lives and property nationwide. He also noted that the army would continue to strengthen cooperation with state governments to enhance the nation’s security architecture and promote lasting peace.

Governor Ododo congratulated Lt.-Gen. Shaibu on his appointment as the 25th Chief of Army Staff, describing it as a well-earned recognition of his leadership qualities. He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing Shaibu at a crucial time in the nation’s security efforts.

Ododo further commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering dedication to protecting the country and reaffirmed the readiness of the Kogi State Government to support all ongoing and future military operations within the state.
