APC Commends President Tinubu for Maintaining Impartiality During Anambra Poll

Lagos APC Commends President Tinubu for Upholding Neutrality in Anambra Poll

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised President Bola Tinubu for safeguarding Nigeria’s democratic principles by remaining impartial during Saturday’s Anambra governorship election.

The party’s Spokesman, Mr. Seye Oladejo, made the commendation in a statement on Monday in Lagos, highlighting that Tinubu’s stance reinforced public trust in the electoral process.

“By choosing not to influence the outcome, the President has demonstrated his dedication to credible elections and transparent governance,” Oladejo said.

He also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, fair, and transparent election, noting that the process under the new leadership reflected a progressive approach to Nigeria’s democracy.

Oladejo further pointed out that the election outcome revealed internal disunity and lack of organisation among the opposition, describing the coalition as fragmented and lacking national appeal.

He added that while opposition parties search for excuses, APC will remain focused on governance, reforms, and policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

“The Anambra election outcome underscores the need for credible leadership and serves as a lesson to opposition parties that political recklessness will no longer be tolerated,” he said.

INEC declared Gov. Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the winner with 422,664 votes, while APC candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu received 99,445 votes. Candidates from other parties, including the Young Progressives Party, African Democratic Congress, Labour Party, and PDP, secured smaller shares of the vote.
