The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Alhaji Adamu A. Kibiya, has officially received more than 100 defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tarai, Kibiya Local Government Area, into the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday in Kano by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Balarabe Kiru.
According to the statement, the defectors, led by the APC Women Leader, Hajiya Sabuwa Tarai, said their defection was motivated by the visible development projects and social programmes implemented by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.
“We are impressed by the numerous developmental strides of Governor Yusuf at both local and state levels,” Tarai said.
While welcoming the new members, Commissioner Kibiya assured them of fair treatment and urged them to contribute actively to the continued growth and success of the NNPP in the state.
