Okay Africa Celebrates Influential Africans in New Series ‘Bird’s Eye View’

OkayAfrica, a leading digital platform celebrating African culture, has unveiled its new podcast series, Bird’s Eye View, marking a major step in amplifying influential and thought-provoking African voices.

In a statement released in Lagos on Wednesday, the platform described the show as a pioneering production that gives space to revolutionary thinkers while delving into themes such as Pan-Africanism, capitalism, and the global Black experience.

The podcast is co-hosted by acclaimed Afrobeats musician Seun Kuti and Pan-Africanist activist Bro Diallo.

According to OkayAfrica, Bird’s Eye View stands out for its unfiltered approach and bold discussions on issues that often remain unspoken in public discourse.

The show, the statement added, serves as both a reflection and a challenge for Africans at home and abroad—urging them to reassess their beliefs and consider which ideals truly drive progress within their communities worldwide.

Since its debut on September 1, 2025, Bird’s Eye View has received an enthusiastic response, with audiences praising its depth and focus on real issues affecting Black communities across the globe.

The podcast streams exclusively on YouTube, following OkayAfrica’s successful partnership on Afrobeats Intelligence presented by OkayAfrica, which has already drawn over 2.2 million views.

The statement reaffirmed that OkayAfrica remains committed to telling stories that inform, inspire, and reflect Africa’s evolving narrative—continuing to invest in the continent’s media landscape even as some global players withdraw.

OkayAfrica’s parent company, Areya Media, is led by former CNN journalist Isha Sesay, whose fearless reporting during Nigeria’s Bring Back Our Girls campaign positioned her as a strong advocate for African voices.

Sesay reiterated that OkayAfrica’s mission is to build a global network of engaged and empowered Africans by fostering intellectual and cultural connections between those on the continent and in the diaspora.

“Seun and Bro Diallo have consistently pushed boundaries and encouraged Africans to rethink their role in the modern world,” the statement noted. “Creating Bird’s Eye View to elevate their perspectives and spark meaningful conversations about colonialism, capitalism, and Africa’s growth was an obvious choice.”

Each episode of Bird’s Eye View blends historical insight with modern analysis, supported by polished production, captivating visuals, and professional sound design.

The conversations are open, witty, and deeply informed, making complex political and social issues engaging and accessible to audiences worldwide.

Since its founding in 2011, Okay Africa has remained steadfast in its mission to spotlight African excellence and amplify the continent’s creative and cultural power on the global stage.
