The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has notified the public of a temporary traffic restriction around the Murtala Muhammed Airport area in Lagos on Saturday due to a 10-kilometre fitness walk involving its personnel.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday by the spokesperson of NAF Headquarters Logistics Command, Lagos, Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun.
According to Ologun, the exercise is part of the Force’s effort to promote physical fitness, enhance the well-being of personnel, and boost their operational readiness.
“The exercise will begin at 6:00 a.m. and end by 8:00 a.m. During this time, sections of the Airport Road and adjoining routes will be closed temporarily to vehicular traffic,” she said.
She explained that the section to be affected would span from Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Ologun advised motorists to use alternative roads and adhere to traffic guidance from NAF and security officials who will be on duty to ensure safety and ease movement.
“Normal traffic flow will resume immediately after the exercise,” she assured, adding that adequate arrangements have been made for a smooth and secure operation.
She expressed the Force’s appreciation to the public for their patience and cooperation during the brief closure.
