Badagry LG boss re-engages146 dismissed casual staff

The Chairman of Badagry Local Government Council in Lagos, Mr. Babatunde Hunpe, has approved the re-engagement of 146 casual staff to boost service delivery in the area.

Mr. Augustine Kriko, the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Badagry.

According to the chairman, the re-engagement forms part of ongoing reforms under his administration’s performance-driven policy aimed at increasing productivity and accountability across all council departments.

He revealed that about 90 percent of the re-engaged workers are essential staff who will be assigned to key sectors such as primary healthcare centres, security, environment, and sanitation services.

Hunpe emphasized that this redeployment will help address manpower shortages and strengthen operational capacity in critical areas.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a motivated and results-oriented workforce, the chairman urged the reabsorbed staff to justify the trust placed in them by showing renewed dedication, discipline, and commitment to service.

Earlier, on September 15, the chairman had announced the disengagement of 266 casual workers, citing reasons such as low productivity.
