House of Representatives Swears In Three New Members

The House of Representatives on Tuesday officially swore in three new lawmakers: Omosede Igbinedion (Edo), Felix Bagudu (Kaduna), and Murktar Rabiu (Jigawa).

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen announced their presence during plenary, after which the Clerk of the House formally led them into the Green Chamber to take their oaths of office.

Igbinedion was declared winner of the recent by-election in Ovia Federal Constituency of Edo State, securing 77,053 votes. The seat became vacant in September 2024 following the elevation of Dennis Idahosa to the position of deputy governor.

In Kaduna State, Bagudu won the Chikun–Kajuru Federal Constituency seat with 34,580 votes, succeeding the late Ekene Adams of the Labour Party.

Rabiu emerged victorious in the by-election for Garki/Babura Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, polling 38,449 votes.

All three new members are from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
