“Northern Mongolia Battles Outbreak of Forest Fires”

The wildfires started on Wednesday in Khutag-Undur soum of Bulgan province and in Galt soum of Khuvsgul province, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Authorities said the incidents were linked to human negligence, including improper fire use and intentional burning of grass or waste materials.

Experts note that dry and windy conditions across much of Mongolia this autumn have heightened the risk of such fires spreading quickly.

NEMA has called on citizens to exercise extreme caution, stressing that preventive measures are essential to avoid further outbreaks.
