Nasarawa Lawmaker Urges Residents to Expose Criminal Elements

Mr. Mohammed Omadefu, who represents Keana Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has called on residents of the state to expose criminal elements in their communities in order to help curb kidnappings and other crimes.

Omadefu, who chairs the House Committee on Environment, made the appeal on Monday while receiving members of the Eggon Women Forum from Keana LGA in his office in Lafia.

He explained that providing security agencies with timely and useful information would strengthen efforts to address the rising cases of abduction and insecurity across the state.

“I urge you and all residents to expose criminal elements in your domains by giving vital information to security operatives. This will enable them to tackle incessant kidnappings and other criminal activities,” he said.

The lawmaker thanked the group for their visit and reiterated his commitment to delivering dividends of democracy, noting that he had already provided water projects, employment opportunities, educational support, infrastructure, and empowerment programmes to communities in Keana.

“By God’s grace, I will continue to provide the needed development for my constituency. I am working to ensure that Kwarra Ward is better connected to other communities and the wider world,” he added.

He assured the women of inclusive and purposeful leadership, urging them to shun ethnic and religious politics, while also calling for their prayers and continued support.

Earlier, Mrs. Lydia Akawu, Chairperson of the Eggon Women Forum, said the group’s visit was to appreciate the lawmaker for his contributions to Keana LGA.

“We are here to thank you for the good work you are doing for the people, including the provision of a transformer, boreholes, and empowerment initiatives for women and youths,” she said, pledging the group’s loyalty and support.
