RTEAN Names Henry Ugwu as New National Secretary General

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has announced the appointment of Mr. Henry Ugwu as its new National Secretary General, with the decision taking effect immediately.

This was disclosed in Abuja through a statement issued on Sunday by the association’s National President, Alhaji Musa Mohammed. He explained that the move was in line with RTEAN’s constitution and the Trade Unions Act.

According to Mohammed, all members, stakeholders, government bodies, and security agencies are to recognize Ugwu as the duly appointed Secretary General of the association.

He further revealed that the decision followed a meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC), chaired by Deputy National President (Administration), Ambassador Mohammed Bishara. At the meeting, the NEC reviewed the findings of a committee set up to investigate allegations of misconduct against the former Secretary General, Mr. Yusuf Adeniyi.

After deliberations, the NEC resolved to dismiss Adeniyi from his position, declaring that he is no longer authorized to act or present himself in any capacity as Secretary General.

Mohammed reaffirmed RTEAN’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and cooperation with government institutions in promoting peace and development within Nigeria’s transport sector.
