Strike: Osun JUSUN reiterates commitment to actualise demands

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State Chapter, has reaffirmed its resolve to continue its indefinite strike until its demands for unpaid benefits and stalled promotions are met.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo, the chapter’s chairman, Mr. Idris Adeniran, said the union remained united and would not be swayed by misleading reports aimed at undermining its legitimate struggle.

“We reaffirm our commitment to securing justice and fairness for all JUSUN members, particularly on our demands for promotions, welfare issues and other long-overdue entitlements.
“We will continue our struggle until they are met by the Osun Chief Judge, and that is sacrosanct to all members,” the statement read.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the union embarked on an indefinite strike on Sept. 19 following a three-day warning strike.
The action seeks to compel the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to address unpaid entitlements, approve the 2024 and 2025 promotions for members, and organise training programmes for judicial staff.

JUSUN emphasised that the strike would remain in force until all demands were fully implemented.
