NPFL: Enyimba celebrate 3-2 triumph, applaud Otti’s ₦30m gift

The leadership of Enyimba International Football Club has applauded Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for rewarding the team with ₦30 million following their 3-2 victory over Bendel Insurance of Benin.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Aba by the club’s Media Director, Samson Orji.

Reports indicate that in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture on Sunday, Enyimba rallied from behind to defeat Bendel Insurance 3-2 at the Enyimba International Stadium.

Goals from Abiodun Joseph in the 18th minute, Kalu Nweke in the 66th, and Chidera Michael in the 69th sealed the hard-fought win for the Aba-based side.

According to the statement, the governor’s presence at the stadium and his words of encouragement provided a big lift for the players.

It added that the financial gesture, calculated at ₦10 million for each goal scored, would greatly boost the team’s morale in upcoming fixtures.

The club noted that the cash reward was a major factor that fueled one of the most dramatic comebacks in this season’s NPFL.

Enyimba expressed deep appreciation to Governor Otti, stressing that his uncommon encouragement and generosity would continue to inspire the team to strive harder.

The players and management further assured that they remain committed to repaying his confidence by chasing more victories in the league.

The statement also emphasised that with consistent support from the governor, the club is determined to restore its dominance in both domestic and continental football.

Enyimba concluded by extending heartfelt thanks to Governor Otti, pledging not to relent until they bring honour to Abia State and their loyal supporters.
