The Ebonyi State Police Command on Friday confirmed the arrest of four individuals linked to kidnapping activities in the state, alongside the recovery of five stolen vehicles.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, two suspects were captured on Sept. 2 at Umuhuali in Ishielu Local Government Area, while the others were tracked down in Abuja.
He said one Lexus car with registration number LSR 895 DB was seized during the initial operation.
Following interrogation, the suspects gave useful information that led officers to Abuja, where two more suspects were apprehended.
Ukandu added that the raid also resulted in the recovery of four additional vehicles: a Toyota Corolla (KWL 141 CE), Toyota Highlander Jeep (LSD 589 JX), Toyota Venza (LXR 272 JH), and Toyota Sienna Bus (RSH 196 DF).
He disclosed that the rightful owners, who had earlier fallen victim to kidnapping, have identified the vehicles as theirs.
The police have begun arrangements to release the cars after completing necessary procedures.
Ukandu further revealed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, remains resolute in ensuring criminal networks are dismantled across the state.
He urged residents to continue partnering with the police through timely sharing of intelligence that would boost security operations in Ebonyi.
