Hajiya Safa Nasir, wife of the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, has provided empowerment items worth ₦30 million to support 1,300 women in Daura.
Speaking at the event in Daura, Nasir said that the beneficiaries were chosen across the 185 polling units of Daura Local Government Area.
She explained that the initiative was aimed at creating opportunities for women in the area to become self-reliant and contribute to family well-being.
“As women, we should position ourselves to support our husbands in taking care of the family, that is what this gesture targets to achieve,” she said.
The speaker’s wife, who distributed cash, food items, and small business tools, urged the women to put the assistance to good use.
In her remark, the wife of Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Zulaihat Radda, praised the effort, noting that such interventions could enhance women’s contribution to household sustainability.
She added that the empowerment drive reflects commitment to the welfare of families and strengthens women’s role in community development.
