The Kirikasamma Local Government Council in Jigawa State has confirmed that one person lost their life while seven others sustained injuries following the collapse of a building in the area.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the council’s Information Officer, Musa Muhammad, the incident occurred at Kabak village after a heavy downpour late Friday night.
He explained that five of the injured victims were admitted to the hospital for treatment, while two others were treated and discharged.
Council Chairman, Muhammad Maji, visited the affected community to sympathize with the victims and their families. During the visit, he announced a ₦500,000 support fund to cover medical bills for those injured, and ₦100,000 emergency assistance for the bereaved family.
