Represented by Usman Yau during the handover ceremony in Bauchi on Sunday, Wunti said the gesture was motivated by the President’s agricultural reforms aimed at strengthening food security, creating jobs, and driving economic growth.
He explained that 2,000 bags would be distributed among APC leaders across the 20 local government areas of the state, while 200 bags were reserved for the state party leadership. According to him, the intervention was designed to empower farmers, boost yields, and improve productivity during the current farming season.
“Supporting agriculture is vital to tackling poverty, reducing unemployment, and improving livelihoods. We have extended similar donations to other political parties and organisations to back the Federal Government’s food security initiatives,” he said.
Wunti added that the contribution would make a meaningful impact on food security in Bauchi and beyond.
Receiving the donation, Bauchi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Tilde, expressed gratitude to Wunti, describing the support as timely and impactful. He noted that access to fertiliser remained a major challenge for many farmers, especially in rural communities, and stressed that the intervention would help bridge the gap.
“This gesture will significantly enhance agricultural production across the state. On behalf of Bauchi APC, we sincerely thank Dr. Wunti for his generosity and commitment to both the party and the development of Bauchi,” Tilde said.
He assured that the fertiliser would be distributed equitably across the 20 LGAs to ensure transparency and reach genuine beneficiaries.
