He gave the assurance during a Performance Review Retreat convened by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, themed “From Plans to Results: Strengthening Institutional Performance in the Ministry of Interior.”In a statement issued by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Umar, Nwakuche explained that the NCoS was taking deliberate steps to reposition correctional facilities across the country.According to him, these measures are designed to align with international standards while addressing gaps and emerging challenges within the system.“Correctional reforms play a vital role in national development. They strike a balance between security, offender rehabilitation, and the welfare of personnel,” Nwakuche stressed.He assured that the Service was committed to turning government directives into practical outcomes that can be measured and sustained.The Comptroller General further pledged to restore public confidence, uphold professionalism, and reinforce the Service’s role in safeguarding national security.The retreat brought together heads of agencies under the ministry as a platform to highlight milestones, review ongoing initiatives, and design stronger strategies for effective service delivery.
