A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Juvenile Career Education (JuCE Africa), says the 2025 JuCE Africa Bootcamp will equip secondary school students with essential 21st-century skills.
The Founder of JuCE Africa, Ms Adaeze Okeke, said this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.
The statement was signed by Mrs Ezinne Azunna, JuCE Africa Media Lead.
She said the initiative became imperative because of an increasingly competitive and complex world being faced by young people across Africa.
She added that early exposure to global skills, real-world problem-solving, and digital and technological skills was crucial.
“The bootcamp responds to this need by going beyond the classroom to encourage students to intertwine technology with leadership, innovation, and creativity.
“Every session is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and promote collaboration among peers from diverse backgrounds,” she said.
He said the 35 secondary school students were carefully selected out of 109 applicants for a dynamic five-day bootcamp from August 18 to 21, at American Corner, Ikeja, Lagos.
“Each day of the bootcamp will expose participants to essential topics such as Leadership & Problem Solving, Entrepreneurship & Social Impact, Robotics & Coding, and Communication & Presentation.
“The last day of the bootcamp features a Shark-Tank style Mock Business Pitch where the students will pitch business ideas developed during the bootcamp to judges for a chance to win career-centered experience-based prizes.
“ The bootcamp format blends interactive workshops, team challenges, and hands-on learning to ensure that the students are not just passive learners but active contributors, problem-solvers, and innovators,” she said.
Okeke said the bootcamp would be anchored by an outstanding group of facilitators from diverse sectors who would bring both experience and passion to the sessions.
“These include Adedipo Adekanbi of Foot City, Douglas Kendyson of Selar, Nigenius, certified media personnel and speakers; Bukola Olusola, and Daniel Adeyemi, among others.
“The Mock Pitch will feature professionals from leading organisations serving as judges,” she said.
