Jonathan Mourns Victims of Ghana Helicopter Crash

Former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has expressed deep sorrow over the recent military helicopter crash in Ghana that resulted in the deaths of top government officials and military personnel.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the tragic incident took place on Wednesday in the Ashanti region of southern Ghana. All those on board the aircraft were reported to have died in the crash.

Among the casualties were Ghana’s Minister of Defence, Edward Boamah, and the Minister of Environment, Ibrahim Mohammed.

In a condolence message shared via his social media platforms on Wednesday evening, Jonathan described the incident as heartbreaking and extended his sympathies to President John Mahama, the government, and the people of Ghana.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Ghana’s Defence Minister, Edward Boamah, the Minister of Environment, Ibrahim Mohammed, and other dedicated public servants in the unfortunate helicopter crash,” Jonathan wrote.

He praised the victims for their commitment to public service and paid tribute to their contributions to national development.

“These were patriotic individuals who made significant sacrifices for Ghana’s peace and progress. Their sudden passing is a great loss to the nation,” he said.

Jonathan concluded by offering prayers for comfort and strength for the bereaved families and the Ghanaian people, adding, “May their legacy continue to inspire future leaders, and may their souls rest in perfect peace.”
